I just love it when I see the UPS guy delivering that familiar thin, brown package from Amazon. 🙂 So, what did I order this time?
- “What’s the Difference? Manhood and Womanhood Defined According to the Bible” by John Piper
- “Damsels in Distress: Biblical Solutions for Problems Women Face” by Martha Peace
- “Respectable Sins: Confronting the Sins We Tolerate” by Jerry Bridges
What do all these books have in common? (Besides having subtitles, which apparently is a requirement for any good book) They will be devoured by me in no time flat! Oh MAAAANnn!!! I wanna read these!!!! Of course, we were talking about the Bridges book before but I also had my eye on the Martha Peace book. I don’t have time to read another book right now! I’m swamped and waaay behind!!! You’ll have to share what you’re learning with me as you go along!

I shall do that! The Piper book is actually a portion of the “Recovering Biblical Manhood & Womanhood” by him and Grudem. I think it’s an essay or something that’s contained in the larger work. I’d enjoy reading that one too, but I thought the one I got was a good place to start. How challenging to my feminist bones. Maybe I’ll add posts that touch on things I’m learning from the books. Those are going to be added to my collection. I want to read Elyse Fitzpatrick soon……I have Idols of the Heart, but I’ve never read her so I just want to start somewhere. I’ve heard great things. Did you ever finish The Excellent Wife? SOOOOO good & so challenging. I think it’s a good one to review/skim on a yearly basis to revive our marriages.
